[Omaha, NEBRASKA] — April 1, 2019 marked the deadline to submit your Candidate Application for the Elk Creek Crossing Home Owners Association Board. This was a neighborhood-wide campaign both in print (letters and nomination forms mailed to every ECC household) and online (ECC official website plus NextDoor.com) initiated by the current board on March 10, 2019.
The extensive efforts of the HOA Board appeal for volunteers has resulted in — out of 426+ Elk Creek Crossing households — ONE nomination. Thankfully, that person has been found to be an outstanding candidate!
On May 11, 2019, interim President Brenda Jennings and Secretary Ann Smith sat down for a meet and greet with candidate for nomination, Mark Cave. After the 1+ hour meeting, a vote was taken to appoint Mr. Cave directly to the board for a 3-year term as Vice President. The Board is able to exercise this power according to the ECC HOA CCR: Article VII, Section 4 regarding “Special Appointments”.
The newest addition to the ECC HOA Board is longtime resident, Mark Cave! A big, warm WELCOME goes out to Mark from Brenda and Ann!
What’s next? The board will be meeting early June to discuss goals. The two biggest on the list being: 1) neighborhood involvement/apathy; 2) improve communications. Countless volunteer hours are put in by the Board on a weekly basis; volunteers and participants are the key to making ANY event a success. Work with the Board to make that happen!
